Kimberley Mewhirter is a Rock Falls native. Upon graduation, she attended Illinois State University where she earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Political Science and Civic Engagement and Responsibility. She was nominated to become a member of Pi Sigma Alpha, the Political Science National Honor Society. She went on to study law at Northern Illinois University College of Law. During her time in law school, she spent time working with the Civil Justice Clinic providing legal services to low income families.
